Welcome to Provo, Utah -- the heart of Utah Valley!

Home to more than 118,000 people, Provo has something for everyone. The beautiful scenic area provides a wide range of activities for those who crave outdoor fun, as well as a backdrop to many that prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

Provo has consistently been ranked among the top 20 places to live in the United States according to the annual Money Magazine ranking.Reasons may include that it has been among the top in the nation in least stressful cities, healthiest cities for women, cities withthe most outdoor fun, cities with best population for high-growth companies, and cities with the lowest crime rate.

Provo is also a major gateway to six national parks, seven national monuments, two national recreational areas, six national forests and 44 state parks. Museums and the arts and many other opportunities are available in Utah Valley. These are just a few reasons why many have come to see for themselves what Provo has to offer for them and the whole family.

LOCATION AND GEOGRAPHY
Utah Valley
- Provo is 44 miles south of Salt Lake City and SLC International Airport (Delta Hub)
- Utah Valley is bordered on the east by the Wasatch Mountains and on the west by the Oquirrh Mountains
- Utah Valley elevations range between 4,300 and 4,700 feet above sea level
- Mountain peaks reach up to 11,926 feet above sea level
- Utah Lake, the largest fresh water lake in the state, is located in the western part of the county
- Population of Utah Valley or the Provo/Orem metro area was 398,056 in 2002

Directions to BYU from Salt Lake City International Airport
Exit Airport and go east on I-80 towards Salt Lake City/Provo
Merge onto I-215 Southbound
Stay on I-215 Southbound around the belt route
Merge onto I-15 Southbound towards Provo
Stay on I-15 Southbound until reaching Orem
Exit I-15 at Exit #269, University Parkway in Orem
Turn left crossing over I-15 heading east on University Parkway
Stay on University Parkway through Orem and into Provo until reaching BYU campus

To LaVell Edwards Stadium (football)
Stay on University Parkway heading east
After passing University Avenue, LaVell Edwards Stadium is one block ahead on the left

To Miller Park (baseball/softball)
Stay on University Parkway heading east
After passing LaVell Edwards Stadium, Miller Park will be ahead on the right

To the Marriott Center (basketball, gymnastics)
Stay on University Parkway heading east
After passing LaVell Edwards Stadium, continue past Miller Park (baseball/softball)
The Marriott Center is on the right at the crest of the hill

To Clarence Robison Track and Field Complex
Stay on University Parkway heading east
Pass over University Avenue
Turn right heading south at Canyon Road (at the corner of LaVell Edwards Stadium)
Clarence Robison Track and Field Complex is ahead on the left

To the Student Athlete Building (Athletics Administration/Student-Athlete Academic Center/Legacy Hall), Smith Fieldhouse (volleyball, gymnastics,Athletics Administration,), South Field (soccer), Richards Pool (Swimming) and Indoor Practice Facility.
Stay on University Parkway heading east
Turn right heading south at University Avenue
After passing Bulldog Blvd go through the next traffic light
Turn left at 1060 North Street (Across from Provo High School and by Zion’s Bank)
Continue until the four-way stop sign
(The Indoor Practice Facility is on your immediate right. The Student Athlete Building is ahead to the left, the Smith Fieldhouse is ahead to the right, Richards Pool is past the Student Athlete Building and to the left, South Field is located just south of the Smith Fieldhouse).
