Stacy Jensen Years At BYU: 6

Stacy Jensen begins her seventh season with the Cougars coaching staff after completing her stellar playing career for BYU in 2002.

In her coaching capacity, Jensen has made significant contributions to the womens basketball program. In five of the last seven seasons, the Cougar team has participated in postseason tournaments including back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007.

This past season BYU compiled a 13-16, 7-9 record on the year with senior co-captain Mallary Carling garnering MWC Second Team accolades while senior center Lauren Varley, the other co-captain, picking up MWC Honorable-Mention honors.

Most recently, the Cougar team recorded back-to-back MWC Regular Season Titles in 2006 and 2007 with players Ambrosia Anderson and Dani Wright being named MWC Co-Players of the Year those same seasons.

In her fourth season as a member of the BYU coaching staff, the 2005-06 campaign, the team had its best finish in school history with a 26-6 record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. That same year the team clinched the MWC Regular Season Title and was ranked in the top 25 for most of the season.

During her four-year stellar athletic career, Jensen was a two-time All-Conference team member, received the Cougar Club Competitor Award and was a three-time Academic All-Conference honoree. The West Jordan native, started her collegiate career at the point guard position and averaged nearly eight points a game as a Cougar. Her speed, leadership and ball handling enabled her to lead BYU through the conference championships and onto the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament her senior season.

Following her senior year, Jensen moved into fourth place on the all-time assist list with 432 career assists. She also finished the season in sixth place in career three pointers made with 123.

Coaching responsibilities: Film coordination, skill development of posts and guards, alumni relations, and camp.

Hobbies: Waterskiing, golfing, and outdoor activities/sports
