Alli Bills is in her ninth season with the BYU womens program and her second stint as an assistant for the Cougars. She was on the coaching staff during the 1999-2000 season, before returning to her alma mater as an assistant to Elaine Elliott for one year.
In five of the last seven seasons, the Cougar team has participated in postseason tournaments including back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007. This past season BYU compiled a 13-16, 7-9 record on the year with senior co-captain Mallary Carling garnering MWC Second Team accolades while senior center Lauren Varley, the other co-captain, picking up MWC Honorable-Mention honors.
Most recently, the Cougar team recorded back-to-back MWC Regular Season Titles in 2006 and 2007 with players Ambrosia Anderson and Dani Wright being named MWC Co-Players of the Year those same seasons. In her eight years of coaching at BYU, Bills has led her teams to five postseason berths including four NCAA appearances, one to the Sweet Sixteen (2001-02) and one WNIT. She has also been an integral member of a coaching staff that took the 2005-06 team to its best finish in school history with 26-6 record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament. That same year the team clinched the MWC Regular Season Title and was ranked in the top 25 for most of the season.
As an assistant coach at Utah, she also led the team to a NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2000-01.
During her collegiate career at the University of Utah, she was a member of two WAC All-Defensive teams in 1996-97 and 1997-98 as well as the 1997-98 All-Conference Team. She was also named to the District 7 Kodak All-American team. She held the national record for most assists during the 1996-97 season and a second-place finish the following year in the same category. Bills led both the conference and the school in assists during her four years at Utah. She also received the prestigious Occie Evans Award and was the co-Female Athlete of the Year.
After college, she played one season professionally in Switzerland and led the team in scoring and assists. Bills also played as a free agent with the Utah Starzz in the summer of 2000.
Coaching responsibilities: recruiting, admissions, scheduling, and is the coordinator.
Hobbies: Waterskiing, snow skiing, golf, wake boarding, volleyball, camping, the beach, the mountains, reading, and spending time with family. She also loves animals.
