PROVO, Utah (Nov. 2, 2009) - Junior Kassidy C. Shumway and San Diego State freshman Sarah Halverson have been named Mountain West Conference Women’s Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week.
This is Shumway's second Player of the Week nomination. Her last one came on October 12.
Shumway, a native of Bountiful, Utah, scored the game-winning goal in BYU’s 3-1 win over Weber State. She also added an insurance goal in the 59th minute to seal the victory.
In the Cougars’ 2-0 shutout win against Wyoming, the junior tallied her second game-winning goal of the weekend to give BYU its sixth MWC regular-season title and a #1 seed in the conference tournament.
Shumway leads the Cougars with 48 shots and has scored three of her seven goals in games against MWC opponents.
