Freshman Zac Blair led the Cougars through the first 24 holes of the Baylor Intercollegiate.

DALLAS (Oct. 26, 2009) – Heavy rains drowned out the second round of the Baylor Intercollegiate, leaving the BYU men’s golf team in 11th place at +24 (300) after 24 holes. The rest of the second round and the entire third round will be played Tuesday.

Freshman Zac Blair had a fantastic showing as he went +1 in the first round and was also 1-over-par through the first six holes of the second round. His total score of +2 was tied for ninth place when play was suspended. Blair posted birdies on the par-5 fifth and 18th holes to begin the day.

Junior Esteban Castillo was also +1 through six holes in the second round after going 5-over the first 18, including a birdie on the par-4 13th hole. At +6 for the tournament, Castillo is currently tied for 34th.

A freshman and a senior both ended the day tied for 44th as newcomer Alton Anderson and veteran Robbie Fillmore both went +8. Fillmore posted the better round-one score at +4 with three birdies before going +4 through the first six holes of round two. Anderson was +6 with three birdies in round one and was +2 in the second round when play was suspended after birdying the par-4 2nd hole for the second time.

Sophomore Jordan Rodgers went 7-over-par in the first round and was +5 in the second round to tied for 61st at +12 overall.
