Cougar Club Honoree Sept 26, 2009
Stephen Miles

Stephen Miles is a Canadian Cougar, originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. Stephen lives in Orem with his wife, Leslie, and their three sons. He is just another of those great BYU people who have come from his homeland to do great things for BYU Athletics, joining the ranks of Masters’ golf champion Mike Weir, former Cougar hoops standout Jimmy Balderson, and KSL Radio’s “Voice of the Cougars” Greg Wrubell.

Let’s face it, the Great White North, blends just beautifully with BYU Blue.

Stephen, who has been a Cougar Club Legacy member for ten years. He has been a BYU Football and Basketball season ticket holder since 1998, and you’ll also see him attending BYU baseball and volleyball matches; he can also be seen along the sidelines cheering the Cougars’ extramural lacrosse team, except when they play Canadian lacrosse powers, like Simon Fraiser University, when admittedly, he cheers a little for both teams.

Along with his fantastic financial donations and fan support, Stephen has also found unusual and exciting ways to use his influence, position, and talents to give generously to BYU Athletics.

Just one example, over the last decade he has donated more than a dozen bicycles from Madd Dog Cycles that we have used to add interest and excitement to BYU Athletics events including the Watermelon Bust, the Fall Cougar Football Kick-off, and the BYU Basketball Preview.

One particularly impressive donated bike was a custom mountain bike Stephen painstakingly gathered the autographs of noteable former BYU athletes which he then found a way to incorporate into the bike’s one-of-a-kind paint job.

Stephen is living proof that what BYU does in this stadium and on this campus reaches beyond borders and encourages Cougar fans from many countries to Rise and Shout. We are grateful to Stephen for his kindness and the many ways he so often helps BYU Student Athletes to succeed.

Please join me in congratulating Stephen Miles as our honored Cougar Club member for the BYU v. Colorado State Football Game.
